Freaky Accidents That Happened On Sets Of Famous Movies

Hollywood has a bunch of safety protocols for stunt performers. However, despite these accidents still happen. Sometimes performers get hurt because of the dangerous stunts, other times because of the enormous amounts of pyrotechnics, and in some cases because of a human error. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Olivia Jackson was Milla Jovovich’s stunt double for the film. She was kind of famous for her stuntwork, and she appeared in   Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and Mad Max: Fury Road. Unfortunately, while she was riding a motorcycle during a chase scene, she crashed into the metal camera arm. Because of that accident she had her left arm completely amputated. It seemed like set of Resident Evil was cursed or something, as other crew member, Ricardo Cornelius, was killed on it. An unsecured car slid off of a rotating platform and crashed into him.

On the set of XXX,  Diesel’s stunt double, Harry O’Connor, performed a stunt which included parasailing. The first take went flawlessly, however, the second one cost him his life.  He struck his head on part of the Palacky Bridge in Prague and died on the spot. Harry also worked on films like Charlie’s Angels and Soldier.

THE DARK KNIGHT

Unfortunately, one of the reasons why this movie is so famous is because only months after filming Heath Ledger died from a fatal cocktail of prescription drugs. But that is not the reason why this movie is on our list. Conway Wickliffe, who had also worked on Batman Begins, Casino Royale, and Die Another Day, among many other films. While rehearsing the scene in which the Batmobile gets taken out by The Joker’s rocket launcher, Wickliffe accidentally collided with a tree. He suffered a severe head trauma and died at the scene of the accident.
